I

Went

To...

New York!

Haha. I just had to do that. It's probably been 10 years since we last went to America and my mum wanted to go somewhere far. So anyway, left for the US on the 12 Dec, which was a Tuesday (yeah, I skipped school) and spent the next 24 hours in an aeroplane seat which caused my arse to cramp up and my knees to hurt from all that sitting. There was a transit at Frankfurt (Germany), but that didn't really help cause the Germany airport is boring and ugly. Not like NYC's airport is any better. New York's like this bustling, up-beat city and you'd naturally think that the airport is like Singapore's Changi Airport but now, when they say Changi Airport is world-class, I will not doubt it. Seriously. New York's airport is so old and boring and dull and grey its suprising. But whatever.

I probably never flew that much on a trip before.

The itinery goes like this: Singapore to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to New York. New York to Buffalo. Stayed over in Buffalo for 2 days, then Buffalo to Boston, Boston to Orlando (Florida). Stayed in Orlando for about a week and then flew back down to New York. Stayed for another 2 days in NYC and then the long, tiring flight back to Frankfurt and finally, Singapore. phew, now I did not expect that to take up three lines. So yeah. You probably get the drift.

I loved Buffalo. That's where we went to see the Nigara Falls and then walked over to Canada. Yup. Walked over. It's actually not as far as you think cause America is connected to Canada with a bridge called the Rainbow bridge and guess what? It really is possible to see a rainbow in the waterfall. Beautiful! See for yourself! Love it! =]

Okie. Then we went to this Hershey I dunno what you call it. It's like a HUGE chocolate shop/factory and it was absolutely sinful just being in that shop. Mum bought like tonnes of chocolate and I almost went crazy. Over the different types of Hershey chocs, over the prices and blah blah blah. That is also where I saw the HUGEST bar of chocolate ever!

Doesn't look that big does it?

Now what do you think? It weighs a freaking 2 pounds lah! A Freaking ONE KILOGRAM!

Oh and guess what? Just when I thought Singapore was the only country to sell some of the ugliest pairs shoes called Crocs, loe and behold! America has them too! And it costs waaaaaayyyyy more than those cheapo S$3 a pair in Singapore.

Oh oh oh. I saw the nothern lights! Cool right?

Not. Its just some really badly taken picture. haha

Okie, flew down to Orlando and met up with my mother's friend and stayed at the Summer Bay resort which is very super nice and comfy and then yup! Went to DisneyLand. There, the DisneyLand is kinda like split into 4 different theme parks. MGM, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Boy is Disney RICH! Four different Theme Parks with totally different concepts and blah blah blah. It's really nice to get in touch with your kid side, the achitecture, the different shows, songs, rides blah blah blah. Universal Studios was the best! Screaming like a banshee, riding rides I never thought I would ride, feeling the adreneline rush... whoot! Oh and did I mention that the people there are really nice too? Well at least they are compared to those in NYC.

New York is... grey, rude, ugly, dirty, grey, and more grey. I have never seen sooo much grey in my life and I felt like I was living in some monochromatic city. Of course the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty was a must see but other than that, New York is boring. Shopping was not that great cause everything was so expensive and cause its Christmas, everywhere is packed. The lights were nice but other than that, nothing. Bleah. =[ Kinda disappointing cause my sister's friend said that Manhattan had good shopping. It's exactly like what you see in the movies.

Went to the WTC site, where it all happened 4? years ago and now, all that there is left is nothing but debris.

Oh but one thing I absolutely love is the tv programmes. American television programmes are sooo crappy but so fun. I mean, its seriously addictive lah. Like there was this talkshow I was watching on this psychiatrist and there was this family on the show. The son had like a serious problem cause he was like addicted to death and his parents were afraid he would become a serial killer and then they went on the show for help. And so there they were on the show and then all of a sudden, the son starts arguing with the parents and then they start screaming at each other and the doctor is like sitting there absolutely doing nothing and I don't know why but I was like sitting there watching the whole drama unfold. So weird.

So yeah. I'm getting lazy so that's about it. I'm still kinda jet-lagged but wth. Mixed feelings about the trip. The big apple was disappointing but Orlando was lovely. It's like Singapore only cooler. I just realised that I 'm like spamming pictures but who cares man? Let the pictures do the talking...
