Updates, updates, updates!!!
I know, I know I haven't been blogging for ages until a certain marshmallow's complaining.. So anyway, I had a rather happening weekend last week. Went to Malaysia for yet another paintball session but this time, instead of the usual one day thing, we actually had a whole itinerary planned out. All planned out by my fat boss's brother, he subsequently sent us all an email:
Hi all,
Get ready for Pia Zui / Huo Bing on 26 April 2008(Sat) at Johor Bahru. After the Pia Zui/Hou Bing, I will arrange the accommodation at Kukup to avoid FBI. There is foods and beers provided. But you had to pay for the accommodation Ah Gong very poor. RM80 include foods but not fire crackers and beers. For the arrangement for Pia Zui and weapons, Jeffrey Ang (Headman) will in charge. This also need money. To be advise.
Journey: 26 April 08
0800hrs - Meet at Woodlands.
1000hrs - Reach Pia Zui location.
1300hrs - Reach Kukup lunch
1430hrs - Check - in / R n R
27 April 080800hrs - Breakfast
1200hrs - Lunch
1330hrs - Home Sweet Home
Thanks and regards
Dickson Ng (Gin Na)
And so after some tedious planning and arrangements, we finally went ahead to Malaysia on the 26th of April with 5 cars, 23 adults and 2 kids. Yup. A platoon of 23 trooped to Malaysia, and obviously, it was great fun. We didn't go to the usual paintball place that we usually go to. This was a whole new terrain and it was way more...
jungle-ly.
I'll let the pictures do the talking...

The whole area is damn big lah! Don't even have to play.. Just try running around the whole area and you'll know how tiring it is. Then try running and hiding for dear life while carrying a guy loaded full of paint pallets, then you'd know how freaking tiring it is.. I was aching like hell after playing lah! Oh and this time, we were ALL dressed in no.4 uniforms that even the people working there were so surprised at seeing this whole bunch of people (namely guys and girls) all dressed alike that they even asked to take a picture lor! Damn funny..
That's what it looks like when you get hit. Paint all over..Then it was over to Kukup for lunch and our rotting time so yeah. Dinner was seafood, seafood and more seafood. Really will eat till burst that kind. And it doesn't help that all they do is to eat, drink and eat somemore, drink then sing karaoke. I swear these people never seem to get tired.
The pretty sunset

It was also pretty cool that we got to play with fireworks lah.. Pretty pretty~

It wasn't really that bad an idea and it was good fun. And CHEAP too! That's what makes it all the better. Haha. =]
Alright, enough of updates, enough of pictures, time for my very overdue dinner. Till then, love love~

It's finally my brother's turn to do his part and serve the nation, and so I took leave to send him off on his final journey as a civilian before becoming one of, and I quote MINDEF: 'Singapore's Sons'. TODAY IS HIS ENLISTMENT DAY!!!
Backdrops and what not to psycho people into signing on.. retardsFrankly, I was seriously quite excited cause I can finally put an image to what that famous Tekong Resort looks like. And you know what, from far it does look a bit like a harmless spit of island where slackers go to to, well slack. I felt like some stupid tourist with a spastic second finger which doesn't stop pressing the shutter button lah. Ahem. Anyway, photos!!

You tell me? Nice not? But then as the ferry goes nearer, you see that big ass national flag flying on top and you snap out of your nice day-dreaming to remember that your mode of transport is so cheesy-ly called 'Penguin Tekong'

Talk about originality..The minute we get off the ferry, enlistees and family members were separated and we were given a tour of Tekong. Well, not the whole of Tekong la, but rather a tour of BMTC and stuff, and all this time, my mum was like: 'Wow, Tekong is so nice now, last time where got like that one?' Say until like she went through NS at Tekong last time... Dots.
He's in Leopard Company, which according to him is
heng cause one more and he'll be in Mohawk, which is not good cause apparently Mohawk and Ninja are the two most
xiong companies or whatever lah..

Every company has like a board where all the high ranking officers and what not are shown lah.. Easier to recognize also lah.

I took a picture of his platoon officer cause I thought he looked like that actor Lim Yu Beng. Well, if he treats them like shit, at least I still can blacklist him or voodoo him or something.. Haha
Oh then after the tour we were brought to the auditorium to witness the oath taking ceremony and when we went in, the boys were already seated right in the middle, so naturally, on seeing their sons once again, mums and dads will then proceed to exclaim rather loudly: 'There! He's over there! Sitting:
option 1: Next to the boy in the red shirt.
option 2: Fourth row fifth boy from the right.
option 3: Call out the poor embarrassed boy's name all the while waving frantically.
but on seeing no reaction from their sons (who at this time are all sitting in an extremely stiff position looking solemn) exclaim: 'Hiyah, he never/cannot see us!'
And you know what the best part is? One of the the army guys actually told a parent who was reenacting the above mentioned, and once again, I quote: 'Please refrain from calling out to your son cause they were briefed previously to not respond to their parents and to act solemn.'
HAHAHAHAHA
ACT SOLEMN!?!?! HAHAHA Classic.

After that came lunch. Finally.

I dunno if the food's always like that but it seriously didn't taste all that bad. After lunch was time to say goodbye. No more nice long showers, nice comfy bed to sleep and waking up at insane hours of 0530. Well, 2 weeks and I'll be seeing you man..
assembling at the parade square before seeing these boys with hair in two weeks time

There have been some major changes in my life recently. Cat has left us and not only did I lose a great working partner and colleague, I lost a confidante, a good friend and we went through some of the toughest times together only to come out victorious but she finally decided that advertising was more of her kind of thing so yeah. I'll definitely miss her but I wish her all the best! Love love~
I've also thought some things through and I definitely feel better so yeah.
Went back to Malaysia over the weekend last week for Qing Ming and I'm ashamed to say this but I was seriously dreading it. Hey if you haven't been back in more than 10 years and you probably won't recognize any of your cousins if you saw them on the streets, with the fear of being ostracized and to top it all, your mode of transport was that of a bone shaker, you tell me will you dread it not?
So anyway, woke up at like freaking 5.30am (Note: I went to bed at about 2am cause I went to watch 'The Pillowman" the previous night and I would have enjoyed it more if I weren't so bloody shagged, and no one in the right mind would wake up at freaking 5.30 in the morning on a Saturday.) and dragged my dead body to Tanjong Pagar Station to catch the supposedly 7.30am train which, was delayed so it departed at 8.40am instead and took an hour to get from Tanjong Pagar Station to Woodlands Checkpoint (considering Singapore is soooo small, an hour is... speechless) and another 6 more horrid hours before reaching Tampin Station. BUT! We're still not there yet. Cabbed for another half an hour before we finally finally finally reach my grandmother's house.
And after not being back for such a long time, it's surprising to see that nothing has changed. Although it's damn kampong, it has a coolness and familiarity to it lah..
the bath area

back area
there's actually a sun roof!
the washing area
And here's the classic.. THE WATER COMES FROM A FREAKING WELL!!!!
So there you have it. Although more ancient that what I know, this was where my dad grew up in and you probably don't get to experience these kind of stuff in Singapore.. The only thing that I hated was the size of the lizards there. They might as well be little komodo dragons. The lizards there are huge to the extent that it is seriously frightening. Thank god Singaporean lizards are not that big if not I think I'll die from the constant fear of them falling from their spots high up on that wall, and far away from me.
Aside from that, went to Mimolette with the office people, (there were like 20 of us) and had a good time laughing, playing stupid games and drinking... Takes your mind off some stuff so it's good lah.
Okie this is damn abrupt but till then~
